No I am not at all alluding to functions an industrial grinder can perform. What I am referring to are today's multidimensional, multi utility kitchen grinders.
They come in a wide range of sizes and functional combinations and can be chosen as per the specific nature of the grinding job that needs to be performed.
Evolution of the Grinder.
The grinder in its present avatar is an intelligent motorized version of its precursors. Grinding stones of historical times have been replaced with lighter, high density, durable, heat resistant materials.
The motor, the heart of the grinder is an energy efficient intelligent device controlled by precision microchips, capable of tripping a fuse and switching off if overloaded. Thus it can be seen that technology has come a long way in replacing human muscular effort with other forms of mechanical power.

A juicer grinder dispenses a finely crushed, residual free, juice. A coffee grinder pulverizes stubborn coffee seeds into a consistently fine powder.
Cereals can be ground into the desirable grain size. Coconuts can be grated using special attachments and so on and so forth. The functions are endless.
It is seldom that any recipe omits reference to grinding. Almost all food preparations involve some form of grinding and therefore introduce the role of the grinder as an indispensable member of the culinary team.
